Jack White Does Not Want You On Your Phone

Jack White is about to embark on his tour which covers most of the US and some of Europe, and in traditional Jack White fashion he has added certain stipulations for his audience. Unlike Arcade Fire that asked their audience all to wear white, Jack White only has the rule of no mobile devices at his show. A statement was released on the Live Nation website which stated the following:

Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and other photo or video-capturing gizmos will be secured in a Yondr pouch that will be unlocked at the end of the show. You keep your pouch-secured phone on you during the show and, if needed, can unlock your phone at any time in a designated Yondr Phone Zone located in the lobby or concourse. For those looking to do some social media postings, let us help you with that. Our official tour photographer will be posting photos and videos after the show at jackwhiteiii.com and the new Jack White Live Instagram account @officialjackwhitelive. Repost our photos & videos as much as you want and enjoy a phone-free, 100% human experience.

This man can do whatever the hell he wants when it comes to demands of an audience because of his accomplished career. Finally, no more seeing people reach for their pockets and accidentally turn on their flash whenever they hear the beginning riffs of Seven Nation Army. The practice of ridding audiences of phones in a concert during a time where we are at our most narcissistic, is a great power play and the best absolute filter to rid the audiences of people who go just for the gram and open it up to those that go for the music.
